Ondoy hit Philippines
Ondoy just hit Philippines. The most affected area is Manila, the capital of Philippines. Houses and even hospitals were flooded. The water rose as high as a second-story house. People already went to the roofs of their houses to be rescued. Those who were unfortunate, I should say, were washed out by the heavy flood and some lost the members of their families while trying to struggle against the raging mud and water. It is a very sad story indeed that most of us were able to witness from news and video streams that were made available by those who were able to record the happening. A lot of families were left without clothes, without houses, rich and poor. I know for sure that there are many who have been looking up to now for their relatives and the time they spent looking for their families thinking of the possibility that some of them are dead is most unbearable.Right now, everyone, the government, media, companies, are trying to help the victims. Our company had made its efforts of collecting clothes, things that can be used, and food. Employees of our company also pledged a certain amount to support those who were extending relief assistance. I have seen that no matter how different the views and opinions of the people are, at times like this you will really feel hope because everyone helps each other.
Aside from the small steps I made to help, I am also saying a prayer that those who lost their loved ones will be able to heal the pain in their hearts and that they still have hopes in their hearts to continue on living.
