Welcome to the Christian World!
Cedric was just baptized today! We did the celebration together with his father’s birthday to make sure we remember the day Cedric became the heir to the Kingdom of GOD. Aside from him becoming a christian, this day is also very memorable because most of my husband’s family were reunited. The exception is their eldest sister, Ate May, who is in the US with her generous and loving husband and 2 beautiful sons.
The baptism was held in Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. We arrived at the church office before 10AM stroke. We hurriedly registered our sponsors – Bee, Charissa, Boss Anne, TL Michelle, Lloyd, Mel and Dona – for the sacrament. At 10:15AM the Pre-Jordan Seminar started which gave us a refresher about the baptism sacrament, the roles of the parents and the guardians. I sure learned a lot. Then a mass was offered and the baptism ceremony was made in between. Water which is a sign for purity washed Cedric’s head. Then there was the lighting of the candle which means receiving of the light of GOD. Then the mass approximately ended at 12 pm whereafter we proceeded to Pino Restaurant in Lahug to eat lunch with the visitors. Then after saying goodbye to our guests we continued our day’s journey to Simala – a place of worship dedicated especially for Mother Mary and her devotees. Simala is located between the boundaries of Sibonga and Dalaguete, Cebu. This trip made this day a very important day to us. This is because Mama Luisa was able to fulfill her promise to Mother Mary about visiting Her in Simala after a year since her last visit. We offered Cedric to Mother Mary and asked Her to always guide him. We also offered thanksgiving mass for the wonderful blessings GOD has showered me, my husband and Cedric.
There were a lot of amazing things that happened today which I really am grateful about and will treasure forever. This day is a celebration of the 2 men I love so much in the world aside from my own father and brother. Happy Birthday my ever dearest Langga, Lordly and Welcome to the Christian World Leonard Cedric Licayan!
