Today is the preparation for the Chinese New Year and tomorrow, February 3, 2011, is Spring Festival. It is one of Chinese Traditional Holidays that shows how Chinese people celebrate their new year. In preparation of the Chinese New Year, Chinese people clean their houses to remove bad luck and welcome good luck. They usually wear or use RED decorations which signifies bravery and prosperity. This is the year of the Metal Rabbit.
Previously on My Treasure Basket’s ACEO, I talked about a friend who keeps herself busy with arts and prints. I have researched online for a formal meaning on the subject and ACEO according to Wikipedia stands for Art Card, Editions and Originals. It originated when some artists began to create cards to sell, in addition to trading among themselves. According to my friend, this was made available for people who love or who has the desire to collect works of art but does not have enough funds to invest. When I visited this site about ACEOs, I realize there is so many opportunities to earn by making ACEOs. I even found myself fascinated with the idea of selling old books. I was quite amazed with not only on how they used it to make a wonderful portrait but on how I would be able to earn money for sideline. I think that this is a very good idea! I might try doing this myself, either selling raw materials or making my own trading cards! I think My Treasure Basket can host a venue for selling or trading ACEOs. Why not?
I have a good friend from work who is really amazing when it comes to making people laugh and boosting someone else’s ego. If you need someone to make you feel good but not being overly praised, then I recommend her. After my shift today, I dropped by her station in the Commercial department. As usual, she is wearing a headset waiting for a call while figuring out on what art to do next. She is so busy with all these art prints and scissors and pens and colored pencils all scattered on her table. Today, I saw her cutting papers in smaller than a 1/4 sheet of paper. I asked what she was doing and she told me she is making something that will help her with her expense. She is using her time waiting for a call to do useful things and arts which she could sell someday and earn money from it. She introduced me with what she call ACEOs. She said it was her daughter who told her about it and now she is trying to make one. I got interested about so I will be visiting the site she told me to learn more about it.
Life was tough! I have been through a lot of storms. I thought I would not last. But I realize, in all those difficulties and struggles, I have become stronger and far more cautious with my decisions ever. I have my little Cedric with me and he is all I need to continue with life and of course with the help of GOD and Mother Mary. I know I will not be the same April I was but I am sure I am going to be a better one. I can do it!
I am not sure if I suffered from Postpartum depression but after I delivered my little boy I keep feeling that I did not have enough training and my skill is insufficient in taking care of my little Cedric. For me there are a lot of things that can worsen postpartum depression. One is not enough training in handling the baby, unsupportive husband or family, financial status can also affect. A mother tends to blame herself when her baby regurgitates or when baby is sick. When the husband does not give attention to his wife or the family is too focused on the newborn. Not being able to buy things for the baby due to financial difficulty can also cause depression. These are just some of the causes for postpartum syndrome.
This type of illness can be prevented or healed if the mother is ready for pregnancy or giving birth. When she also gets the support of her husband and family, she becomes confident of herself. The least a husband can do is to consistently do what he has been doing FOR his wife before and during pregnancy. Family and relatives can also do their part by praising or commending the mother for a good job done in raising the baby. Most of all, the mother herself can prevent this from happening by loving herself and considering herself as a unique and beautiful individual.
This is a story of a man who was born without arms and legs and yet he was able to surpass challenges and realize that there is no point in being angry for what has happened, in being bitter for what one does not have. He has learned one of the most important things in life and that is to be THANKful for what one HAS. Sharing you this video from youtube. I promise you will be inspired by it…
Meagan is already one year old and she is a very curious and confident little girl. On this video she is trying to wear on her own her little shoe. Although she was not able to do it, what is important is she tried to do it on her own. This shows that Meagan is an intelligent and independent little girl!
Hope you will enjoy this video.
Just started to work again and learned that there were a lot of changes happening from deliverables to OIC to weekly readout and everything. Aside from information overload, I also have to update all my log in credentials since they were either expired or deactivated and deleted. Well, it is a good start though. Already took sup calls and assisted new agents on the floor. Though I heard I will be handling enhancement team next month, I know I will do just fine.
I am confident about it.
Posted this video of my niece, Meagan Blanche, so that my mom and brother can see her since they are away. I like this video so I hope you like it too!
For me, LOVE is a gift from GOD that is blessed to each and everyone of us when we acquired life the very moment we were formed in our mother’s womb. It is like an imaginary string that serves as a bond connecting one person to another. That is the reason why I believe in soulmates. Our duty to fulfill and find this LOVE is to let our natural feelings of respect for one’s self and value in life to guide us. It is when we immaturely declare desire, lust, and want as LOVE that we get lost and lose our chance of finding that ONE TRUE LOVE. It is then that we mess up the original and holy bonds or connections that were set up by GOD and we resort to divorce or separation and then start looking for another making us confuse about what we truly deserve. Having a boyfriend or girlfriend is just one step to discovering who your LOVE is. When I say this, I meant it is okay to break up and may be somewhere along after that you will be able to find that ONE person. But doing the act of LOVE prematurely before GOD’s blessing is another story. This is my own definition of LOVE…
